Charlie Brown
and his 1928 Stearman. |
Saturday, June 25, was the second Huckleberry
Pancake breakfast of the season at the
Boundary
County Airport.
Thankfully the sun burned off the morning fog
and there was a good turnout of planes from out
of town, and the EAA chapter served a record 150
plates of delicious huckleberry pancakes.
Local pilot and craftsman,
Charlie Brown, completed his rebuild of a 1928
Stearman biplane after six years of hard work.
He took his inaugural
flight on June 22 and then brought it out to
show at the breakfast on Saturday and a number
of people got to see his work of art up close.
Brian Tackett of
Montana
finished his Private pilot license
June 25 and brought his family out
for his first flight as a new pilot. Brian and
his family recently moved to the area from
Memphis,
Tennessee. He began working on his private
license in 2009 at various flight schools, and
Northern Air was happy to help him complete it
this week. Brian owns a Coot amphibious airplane
that he plans to learn to fly this summer and
explore some of the local lakes.
