Lead, follow, or get
out of the way …

“To
a friends home, the road is never long.”
-Anonymous-
There seems to be a few rumbles from our good
friends in the neighboring counties about our
politics up here in the promised land. I don’t
have total recall but seem to remember a big
split in political methodology in one of our
major parties between how we do business up here
as opposed to parties in our sister counties.
That was, of course. a few years back and
everyone since then has kissed and made up (or
retired).
Allow me just to say that is just too damn bad
if you don’t like the way we behave up here in
the Idaho political wilderness. Thank you, we’ll
continue to march to our own drummers.
I don’t often quote rich and famous people (eyes
of the beholder) but I came across a quote made
by Warren Buffett that I think you would enjoy
as it certainly fits the current mess we are
(still) in … from a recent interview with CNBC.
“I could end the deficit in five minutes.” He
told CNBC. “If you just pass a law that says
anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of
the GDP, all sitting members of congress are
ineligible for re-election.”
See, no 300 page manifesto, just the facts
ma'am. No wonder he has all those coins (his
daddy did not give him everything either). The
grey matter between Mr. Buffett’s ears is what
made him a billionaire several times over.
Why all the excitement? We still have not put a
dent in the nations debt. Once again, it is
going to be a wild election year, boys and
girls.
Big day Saturday for you and yours at the
fairgrounds. The Gatlin Brothers are an awesome
singing group ... bring a lawn chair and park
under the trees this Saturday. Concert begins at
6 p.m.
What we need is a Sushi bar in Bonners Ferry!
That would really shake up the old folks would
it not?
Let’s stay on 2012 a little while longer … I
asked my publisher and editor if it was kosher
(yes it is a bona fide ethnic saying) for me to
endorse local candidates for office when that
time comes. He responded “sure if you want to,
and while you’re at it, why don’t you just go
ahead and cut your own throat.” As a compromise
I’ve offered to wear a paper bag over my head
any and all times I come into town if any of
Uncle Bud’s personal candidates fail to win the
election.
Found out the publisher is lacking a sense of
humor.
Too hot to ramble on … time to run through the
sprinkler.
Do something nice for yourself.
