Bosworth inducted into Timbersports Hall of Fame |

Bonners Ferry native Carson Bosworth is one of
three timber sports athletes to be inducted into
the Stihl Timbersports Hall of Fame Class of
2016.
Carson represented Team USA at the 2008 Stihl
Timbersports World Championship in Kilkenny,
Ireland, where he finished third overall.
He still holds the national record at the World
Championship in both the springboard chop and
standing block chop events. Carson is known for
being one of the most consistent athletes in the
sport for nearly two decades.
As a competitor, he performed well in every
discipline, and rarely placed out of the top
five in any single event. He is a
second-generation lumberjack athlete, following
in his late father’s footsteps.
Carson attended the University of Idaho, where
he was actively involved in the forestry club,
and went on to compete in the Stihl Timbersports
Professional Series for about 12 years.
He retired from the Series in 2013, following
the U.S. Championship event where he placed
fifth; that event was held at the Great Smoky
Mountain Lumberjack Feud in Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee.
He, alongside his father, Bob, helped to
organize several lumberjack events in Bonners
Ferry and around the state over the years.
