Coaches looking to build lacrosse program

Are
you looking for an exciting new spring sport?
Coaches John Niewieroski and Brandon Glaza are
looking to start a new lacrosse team in Bonners
Ferry for boys in grades four through eight.
We have had a high school varsity team for the
past eight seasons and are trying to start a new
program for younger players in order to build
the sport. Ideally, we will get enough players
to have a 4-5th grade team and a 6-7th grade
team. So far we have a handful of interested
players but will need a roster of at least 15 on
each in order to have successful teams!
The lacrosse season will begin soon and will
last until early June. We are currently planning
two practices per week, probably Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. Exact times
will need to be worked out as the teams
materialize.
Costs will likely be $50 to $100 (depending on
size of team) in order to play, which includes a
lacrosse stick and membership to U.S. Lacrosse.
Talk to the coaches about opportunities for work
details and fundraisers to offset the
pay-to-play fees. All other necessary equipment
such as helmets, pads and gloves will be
provided, thanks to a U.S. Lacrosse grant
awarded to Coach Niewieroski.
If you are interested please attend our next
meeting for parents and players at 6 p.m.
Wednesday March 26, at the Bonners Ferry Visitor
Center.
If you can't make the meeting or have any
questions please call Coach Niewieroski at (208)
267-2778 or Coach Glaza at (208) 596-1993. We
are looking forward to a successful season! |
