Badger boys split with Lake City JV

The Badger baseball team traveled to Coeur
d’Alene last Tuesday and split a double header
with the Lake City JV squad.
The first game was won by Lake City 12-1 in five
innings, and the Badgers came back for the split
win in the second game 11-3, also in five
innings.
In the first game, Vince Bennett pitched three
innings, giving up seven runs on five hits while
striking out seven and walking three batters.
The Badgers only got two hits in the game,
freshman Caleb Blackmore and sophomore Matt
Gray.
In the second game, the Badgers struck early for
five runs in the top of the first inning with
leadoff hitter Garrett Skeen hitting a double
over the left centerfielder.
Vince Bennett scored Skeen on a fielder’s choice
and Mat Kramer single scored Connor Bennett and
Mike Clarkson after they reached on walks.
Blackmore scored Kramer on a fielder’s choice
and later scored on a RBI single from Jesse
Woods.
The Badgers added five more runs in the third
inning when Blackmore led off with a single to
right center.
He later scored on a RBI single from Skeen.
Vince Bennett and Matt Sabin both hit RBI
singles in the inning. Garrett Skeen went three
for four, Connor Bennett and Woods each got two
hits in the game.
The split puts their record to 3 – 4 in the
season. |
