With
Bonners Ferry Swish this weekend and a new class of Badger hoopsters
who'll be enrolling this fall, hoops are in the
news this week.
Badger basketball coach Clint Arthur is inviting
all Badger boys in grades 4 through 8 who are
interested in basketball to attend a two-day
fundamentals clinic taking place in the Bonners
Ferry High School gym July 12-13.
Registration takes place at 8 a.m. Thursday,
July 12, and the clinic runs from 8:30 to 11
a.m. Thursday and Friday.
During the clinic, Badger coaches will be
covering the basics; defense, rebounding,
passing, dribbling, screening and shooting. Cost
of the clinic is $25.
On to Swish, which hits Main Street Bonners
Ferry Saturday and Sunday, July 14-15.
Brett Brown, who's been involved with Swish
since its inception, is looking for help at 5:30
p.m. Thursday, July 12, to help move hoops in
preparation for all the action. Everyone who'd
like to pitch in are asked to meet up in the
Safeway parking lot; with enough strong backs,
it should only take about an hour.
And finally, the Junior Class Parents are
looking for people who'd like to be cool during
Swish by volunteering to have a seat in the dunk
tank!
While everyone is welcome they'd especially like
people the public would like to see get all wet;
teachers, law enforcement officers, elected
officials, etc. Proceeds will benefit the Senior
All Night Party.
To sign up, call or text Lisa at (208) 610-5480.
The way the weather looks, this might be the
only way to keep your cool during a truly hot
event! |
