Several Badger cross-country runners spent
several days maintaining their conditioning for
the coming season, which begins with practice
August 12, attending the Flathead Lake Distance
Running Camp, Bigfork, Montana, June 13-16.
Badger runners Jacob Callister, Michah
Krmpotich, Jared Lysne, Nonnie Stofiel and
Bradley Thompson attended the camp, experiencing
a mix of snowy trails, sun and rain, along side
runners from as far away as Pensacolo, Florida.
The camp sessions focused on goal setting,
motivation and the college-level running
experience.
Former Badger standouts Lorena LaBarbera and
Dylan Sweeney were counselors at the camp, and
Badger Coach Paul Bonnell was one of the camp
coaches, along with Gonzaga University cross
country and distance track coach Pat Tyson.
"I love how the students get a jumpstart to
their training and running in the mountains with
athletes from all over the country," Bonnell
said. "It was a great experience for everyone
involved."
With Badger cross-country practice beginning
August 12, Bonnell is asking all returning
runners and new runners of high school age to
call him at (208) 597-1431 to find out about
practices and what they'll need to be ready for
the upcoming season. |
