The
vocal octet Boundless brings Broadway
to Bonners Ferry's own Pearl Theater May 9-10,
and May 16, 17.
Love Makes the World Go Round is an
original Broadway revue featuring the beloved
music of George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers and
Hammerstein, and Stephen Schwartz.
Saturday shows (May 9 and 16) begin at 7:00 p.m.
and Sunday matinees (May 10 and 17) begin at
3:00 p.m. The Pearl Cafe will open one hour
before curtain time. Tickets are $12 for adults,
$30 for a family, and $6 for students, under age
5 is free. Tickets are available at Bonners
Books, Mountain Mike's Nutrition, and Black Bear
Books in Creston.
The show is directed by Victoria Blake Thompson,
and accompanied by Barb Nelson. Singers include:
Chloe Cavender, DJ Cruttenden, Skye Palmer, Jim
Thompson, Rhea Verbanic and Victoria Blake
Thompson from Bonners Ferry, Sam Richardson from
Sandpoint, and Elvin Strand from Creston,
British Columbia.
Love Makes the World Go Round is a look
at love from the perspective of these Broadway
greats. The opening section features Stephen
Schwartz music from Broadway productions
Pippin, Godspell, Wicked, and more. It
focuses on love in its many non-romantic forms.
The middle section, featuring the Gershwin tunes
from shows like My One and Only, Funny Face,
and Girl Crazy, is all about romantic
love. The closing section, features Rodgers and
Hammerstein music on love from Oklahoma,
Carousel, South Pacific,
The King and I, and more.
The vocals are accompanied by projected visuals
about the composers, the shows, the music, and
the theme. This show makes a wonderful present
for Mom, whether just before, after, or on
Mother's Day, May 10. Savory and sweet treats
will be available at the Pearl Cafe to make this
a very special event celebrating love in all its
forms.
