A
good sense of humor, down to earth, fun to be
around, and an appreciation of her community all
apply to Kaprice Frederickson, Upsilon Chapter
of Delta Kappa Gamma Women Educators’ student of
the month. A senior at Bonners Ferry High
School, she enjoys her English class, with the
writing component being her favorite, also her
art class where she particularly likes
sculpturing pottery. She has been able to sculpt
many treasures which she shares with her family.
Kaprice has taken a dual enrollment history
class and has maintained a 3.5 GPA. As her
senior project she job shadowed a table
attendant and has also worked in that job. She
believes it is a much more difficult job than
what people realize, and that the pay is minimum
of $3 an hour, with workers relying on tips
which do not always happen. She relates that the
job requires a good attitude and that a positive
side is the interaction and relationship that is
developed with customers. Outside of school she enjoys hiking, fishing and hunting with her dad. She has not yet been able to shoot a deer, but thinks this will be the year for her to accomplish that. Her favorite fishing spot is wherever her dad takes her which oftentimes is the Moyie River. Kaprice plans to attend North Idaho College to seek a degree in business management which she can use in her family’s business of waste management. Working in her family’s business would allow her to remain in the beautiful community of people and family that she so appreciates. Kaprice has three older brothers that have influenced her in many ways. Their choices and activities have helped form her decisions in making her choices. She is the daughter of Kevin and Stacey Frederickson. |
