Mark David Truesdell, 62, was born the 20th of
July, 1955, and returned to his heavenly father
September 24th, 2017. Service will be held at
the United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Saturday,
October 14.
He was the last baby to be born at the old
hospital in Bonners Ferry and the first baby to
be carried across the street to the new
hospital.
He spent his childhood days playing with his
siblings, Eric and Lynn, and countless
neighborhood children, many of whom became
lifelong friends and extended family.
He attended Bonners Ferry High School, was an
active student and graduated in 1973. He then
attended the U of I to study architecture and
design and was in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon
fraternity.
Mark joined the group Up With People in 1974, a
traveling performance group aiming to inspire
young people to change their world while
breaking down cultural barriers. He and his dear
friend Andre traveled all of Europe performing
with the group. Mark met his partner, Ron
Moffat, and they spent the next 25 years
together making beautiful memories. They made
their homes in New York, New Jersey and Florida.
Finally Mark settled in Bonners Ferry to be
close to family. Mark and Ron traveled the
world, collected and made beautiful art and
spent much of their time with their loved ones.
The list of his accomplishments and experiences
are vast. Mark was a hurricane survivor, Times
Square New Years Eve attendee, Super Bowl
halftime performer, railroad worker, chef,
singer ... the list goes on and on.
Mark loved entertaining his friends and family
and often had extravagant dinner parties that
included gorgeous decor and outstanding food.
Mark always enjoyed the finer things in life,
but was also content spending simple, meaningful
moments with those around him.
He shared his love freely and made you feel warm
and welcome when you were around him. Mark loved
Christ and was very strong in his faith, the
church and its people brought so much love and
joy to his life.
Mark is proceeded in death by his partner Ron
Moffat, his father Warren Truesdell, sister Lynn
Mostek-Truesdell and brother Eric Truesdell.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Peterson,
nephew Jason Whittaker and family, niece Tracy
Truesdell and family, niece Ericka Truesdell and
family, niece Marie Riess and family, cousins,
countless friends and his beloved dog Mavis, |
