A woman severely injured in a December 1 head-on
collision on the North Hill lost her fight for
life today. Jennifer R. Jones, 39, of Ponderay,
succumbed to her injuries at Harborview Medical
Center, Seattle, today at 5:40 p.m. She leaves
behind three children.
At about 8:09 p.m. Friday, December 1, a
Boundary County dispatcher alerted deputies of a
tip from a motorist reporting a possibly
impaired driver who was erratically driving
south on Highway 95 from Three Mile.
One minute later, at about 8:10 p.m., the
dispatcher alerted deputies that the vehicle had
hit another vehicle head-on on the North Hill
near the 45 mile per hour sign.
Information on what impaired her driving, if
anything, has not been released.
According to Idaho State Police, Jones was
southbound in a brown 2006 Ford Explorer on
Highway 95 near milepost 509 when she drove left
of center and struck a white 2008 Dodge Caravan
driven by LaMar Olsen, 82, and his wife,
Dorothy, 78, Bonners Ferry. Both were treated at
Boundary Community Hospital.
A friend had established a fund to help cover
medical expenses while she was fighting to live,
the fund will now also be used for her funeral
expenses. To donate,
