First half tax deadline just ahead |
December 8, 2017 |
Boundary County Treasurer Susan M. Larson would
like to remind all Boundary County taxpayers
that the deadline for paying the first half of
the 2018 property taxes without penalty is
Wednesday, December 20.
Tax notices were mailed in November and may be
paid in two installments; the first half by
December 20 and the remainder by June 20, 2018.
Any portion of the assessed tax may be paid at
any time, but if there is a remaining balance on
the first half after December 20, a two-percent
late charge is immediately applied.
After January 1, interest of one percent per
month is added.
Tax payments can be mailed to the Treasurer’s
Office, P.O. Box 218, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805,
or can be brought to our office in the Boundary
County Courthouse, 6452 Kootenai Street, in
downtown Bonners Ferry.
Office hours are 9 a.m. To 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday. Payments that are mailed to the
Treasurer’s Office must be postmarked by
December 20, 2017, to avoid penalty.
MasterCard, Discover and Visa cards are accepted
in the treasurer's office. You can also pay by
telephone with a credit card through Official
Payments Corporation at 1-877-203-6083. You will
be asked to enter your bill number, a daytime
phone number, year of tax bill you are paying,
amount you are paying, and your credit card
information.
We also have PayStation and Official Payments on
our
website. There is a
“convenience fee” for these services. |
