A 26-year-old Troy woman was killed in a
two-vehicle crash Thanksgiving night in Flathead
County near Kalispell. The names of those
involved have not been released and the crash
remains under investigation.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the
woman was driving a 1993 Nissan Altima south on
Montana 35 near Broeder Loop Road at about 7:10
p.m. Thursday when she reportedly veered into
the northbound lane.
The driver of a 2004 Chevy Tahoe told Montana
Highway Patrol troopers that he was driving
around a curve when he saw the Nissan in his
lane. The Tahoe driver, 64, from Kalispell,
braked and steered to the right in an attempt to
avoid a collision. The Altima driver attempted
to correct back into the southbound lane when
the Tahoe hit her vehicle on the driver’s side
door.
The driver of the Altima was not wearing a seat
belt. She died at the scene.
The Kalispell man was wearing a seat belt and
was not injured.
The road conditions were wet and it was raining
at the time of the crash. Alcohol is not being
considered a factor in the incident. |
