Extended holiday hours for Christmas tree permit sales | |
November 16, 2017 | |
The office is able to sell only Christmas tree permits during the extended holiday hours. Christmas tree tags are $5 each, and a family may purchase up to five tags. The Idaho Panhandle National Forests also offers a “permit by mail” system. Visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/ipnf/passes-permits, print and complete the form, include a check or money order, and mail. Tree tags will be mailed out the next working day after receipt of application. Christmas tree permits allow for trees cut on National Forest lands in northern Idaho and Montana, and on Bureau of Land Management lands administered by the Coeur d’Alene District Office in North Idaho. As you prepare to search for the perfect tree, be prepared for cold weather and snow! Dress warmly, carry extra food and hot drinks and always let someone know your travel plans, including destination and expected time of arrival back home. Enjoy the holiday season and your national forest! |
