Family coping with sudden loss as holidays draw nigh | |

Mike Phillips, 31, leaves behind his wife, Bonnie, and children Austin and Kayla. The reality of what's befallen them has yet to set in, but Bonnie's sister, Tori Rain, is asking all the family's friends to help with funeral costs and to help them put their lives back together. "I am reaching out and asking from all friends, family and acquaintance to come together and help me raise some money for Mike's funeral costs, as well to help the family for a few months while they grieve and get their mind around everything," Tori wrote. "With Christmas and Thanksgiving right around the corner and Mike being the sole provider for their family, anything really helps." Bonnie, Austin and Kayla are staying with family in Coeur d'Alene, and as the reality of what happened sets in, they have been comforted by all the prayers and kind words they are receiving. Those who'd like to help can click here and hit "donate now." Big or small, all contributions will help this young family get through the dark days ahead. Michael's memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 18, at the Bonners Ferry LDS Church, 6568 Alderson Lane, Bonners Ferry. Arrangements are under the direction of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home. |
