College application week coming to BFHS |
September 18, 2017 |
Idaho College Application Week is November 6
through 9, and at Bonners Ferry High School,
teachers and counselors encourage eligible
students to apply to at least one college during
the week. Additionally, they are offering fun
facts and cool games to engage students in
productive conversation during the week. And that's not all that lies ahead for BFHS students who have their eyes on higher education. If any students are interested in taking any dual credit classes in the spring, please see BFHS Advanced Opportunities Counselor Jennifer Mackey to discuss the application and registration process. Through dual credit classes, high school students can earn both high school and college credits for courses they take now! October 11 is testing day at BFHS! Typically, juniors take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). They also offer the PSAT/NMSQT for sophomores and juniors who are interested in trying to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. If you are a high school junior wanting to take the PSAT/NMSQT, you will need to register and pay at the high school counseling office by September 28. The cost is $20. College Information Night is November 2 at 5 p.m. at BFHS. Not only will college representatives be present, but there will be different breakout sessions with information regarding college admissions, financial aid, ACT/SAT testing, the senior project and much more. And FAFSA Frenzy Nights begin at 4:30 p.m. November 6 and 9 in the high school library. There will be a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) representative from the NIC Financial Aid Office here to help students and parents with their financial aid applications. To find out more, get in touch with your high school counselor. |
