Today at around 3:30 p.m. the Boundary County
Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident
located at the Mountain Meadows Road/Highway 95
slide reduced speed area.
A northbound vehicle from Libby, Montana, was
traveling too fast and lost control, striking
the concrete retaining wall and then crossing
over the center dividers, striking a camp
trailer being towed southbound from Alberta
before continuing down off the roadway into the
timber below.
The family from Alberta was not injured, and the
driver of the car from Montana suffered only
minor injuries. Seat belts and airbags helped
everyone from sustaining more severe injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to please
buckle up when driving and use caution through
the reduced speed area of the Mountain
Meadows/Highway 95 slide area. |
