Intrepid runners brave hot sun in fun run |

A total of 158 intrepid runners from around the
region braved an unusually hot morning today to
complete another outstanding Kootenai River Run.
By race time, the temperature was in the low
80s, so while everyone who worked the fun run
today was appreciated, none were thanked more
than those at the water stations!
In the 5K run, 74 women and 57 men finished,
with Taylor Merrill finishing first in the
women's race with a time of 20:30, and Matthias
Merril taking the men's with a time of 18:07.
In the 10K, 16 women finished, with Lyndsay Hart
leading the way with a 52:18 finish, and 10 men
finished, with Jesse Gondek leading the way with
a 40:41 finish.

sounds of singer Veronica Ward, who came
to Bonners Ferry by way of Nashville,
and keyboardist Donna June, who came
here from Hollywood! The two cranked out
some great boogie woogie and blues as
runners passed by Callie's Niche, then
they packed up after all the runners
were in and set up to rock at the
fairgrounds! |
