Home schoolers interested in the classical
approach to education are invited to consider
Classical Conversations, a program that supports
homeschooling parents by cultivating the love of
learning through a Christian worldview in
fellowship with other families focusing on three
keys to a great education: classical, Christian,
and community. Kim Cushman will be directing the elementary level. The "Foundations" program covers science, fine arts, public speaking, history, Latin, math facts and geography. Classes begin September 13 and meet Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The "Essentials" program is for students aged 9-11. It is a comprehensive Language Arts program covering writing and grammar. Additional time is spent working on mental math skills. Jacque Tanner with be tutoring the junior high level Challenge A for students 12 and up that will cover literature and composition, natural science, cartography, Latin, apologetics and math studies. Glory Rossbacher will be tutoring the high school level Challenge 1 for students ages 14 and up, which will cover Latin, writing and composition, science, math, debate to include American Government and Economics, drama - Shakespeare (Taming of the Shrew) and music theory.
