ISAT resources available online
May 5, 2017
Idaho parents can learn more about state tests and their child’s performance using a new interactive website available from the Idaho State Department of Education.

Students in grades 3-8 and 10th are wrapping up ISAT testing and soon reports will be available from local districts to parents.

“Parent involvement is essential to student success and part of that is understanding what a test says about learning,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Sherri Ybarra. “We wanted an online resource that busy parents could use to learn more about what students are learning and what they are expected to know and do at each grade level.”

The SDE, working with the state’s testing company, developed new reports for parents and a new website for parents to dig deeper into what their children’s results mean.

On the site, parents and the public can review sample questions, information on what proficiency levels mean, and download parent guides for every grade level tested in the math and English language arts.

The website extends work that began with the first pilot of the state test two years ago.

“We want to hear from parents about the site and what they would like added in the future,” said Karlynn Laraway, Director of Assessment. “We see this resource growing to accommodate parent needs.”

The new resource webpage is available at http://testscoreguide.org/id/. Questions regarding the new resource webpage may be directed to Jeff Church at (208) 332-6934. Additional information about the ISAT may be found at http://www.sde.idaho.gov/assessment/isat-cas/.
