Spring may be here at last |
May 1, 2017 |
The National Weather Service has a bit of good
news for those who are still looking forward to
the onset of spring; we may see a few more
showers in Boundary County in the week ahead,
but warmer temperatures are on the way. And while a warm-up by week's end will speed up high elevation snow melt, which remains well above 100-percent of normal, as of now, no flooding is in the forecast. Tuesday should dawn with a bit of sunshine and a light west wind, with the thermometer expected to reach a high near 58 degrees. On Wednesday, there is a 20-percent chance of rain in Bonners Ferry, with the mercury edging up into the low 60s before cooling down to about 42 degrees overnight. But Thursday should be the day that gives us ur first real taste of spring, with sunny skies and a temperature of 73 degrees. And what we missed in spring-like April showers we could see on Friday, with a high again of 73 and a 50-percent chance of rain showers. The chances of rain rise as we head into the weekend, and daytime highs are expected to reach the low 60s, but a drying trend is expected into the following week as temperatures again climb into the low 70s. |
