Boundary County voters will be asked to go to
the polls on Tuesday, May 16, to elect trustees to the Boundary County school board,
and at least two will be a new faces as trustees Nichele Whittaker
and Bev Krichbaum have chosen to step down.
Taking Krichbaum's Zone 2 seat on the school board will
be Susan Weed, who goes into the election
unopposed.
Whittaker
will have served the students of Boundary County
for four years, the last year as chair, when
she, in her own words, returns to being a
regular parent June 30.

Running for her District 5 seat on the School
District 101 Board of Trustees, which covers the
Naples Elementary area in south Boundary County,
are Teresa L. Rae and Bethany Blackmore.
Also up is the District 1 seat, which covers the
Mt. Hall Elementary in northern Boundary County,
where incumbent trustee Ron MacDonald is facing
Justin Gibbins.
Those elected will be sworn in at the school
district's annual meeting July 10.
Voters in both races will go to their normal
polling sites to cast their ballots, with polls
open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
