Utt exonerated in Bonner County murder probe |
April 13, 2017 |
The Bonner County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday
issued a press release exonerating Nathan Utt as
a suspect in a suspicious death reported in
Hope, Idaho, April 5.
Utt was identified as a suspect based on
evidence collected at the crime scene and local
eyewitnesses who said they'd seen Utt in the
area prior to the discovery of the death of the
elderly woman, however, after his capture on an
arrest warrant, Utt provided solid evidence that
he wasn't in the state at the time the woman
died, but was in Eugene, Oregon.
After verifying his testimony, the Bonner County
prosecutor dismissed the charge and Utt was
released.
The investigation remains ongoing and residents
in the Trestle Creek area of Hope are asked to
remain vigilant. Anyone with information on the
case is asked to call Bonner County Dispatch,
(208) 265-5525, or the anonymous Crime Tips
Hotline, (208) 255-2677. |
