April 6, 2017 |
The public is invited to provide feedback on
changes in K-12 education rules for school
buses, special education, academic standards and
more during six public hearings scheduled to
start next Tuesday.
In North Idaho, the public hearing will be held
from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Bay
One Meeting Room at the Coeur d’Alene Resort,
115 South Second Street, Coeur d’Alene.
Changes or additions to state education rules
are being proposed and the public is encouraged
by the department to participate in the process.
This will lead to formal recommendations to be
placed before the State Board of Education this
fall. Public comment will be accepted through
April 26.
The proposals include rule modifications or
additions for:
· Professional Standards Commission (PSC) Revisions
· Standards for Idaho School Buses and Operations Manual
· College Entrance Examination
· Extended Content Standards
· Special Education Manual
· Content Standards: Science, Driver Education, Information and
Communication Technology
Rules and details on how to participate in the
process may be found on the department’s website
