Extension starting a seed library |
December 29, 2016 |
The Boundary County Extension Office is soon
starting a seed library. This library will be a
collection of open pollinated and heirloom seeds
that you can borrow to plant and grow at home.
A class on seed saving techniques will be held
in the Extension Office meeting room at 1 p.m.
Friday, January 27. Cost is $3. To register,
call (208) 267-3235.
By saving seeds as a community, they hope to
achieve a local seed stock. Local seed will be
better acclimated our unique climate. Their goal
is to support gardeners from beginner to expert,
and to help you learn how to grow, harvest and
save seeds.
Currently they have a very small amount of seeds
to share, so they are looking for donations. |
