Memorial Day events outlined, all invited |
May 19, 2016 |
The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars,
and Disabled American Veterans will be placing
flags on Veterans' graves on Friday, May 27, at
Grandview Cemetery at 5:00 p.m. in preparation
for Memorial Day. The community is invited to
help us as we honor those who have served our
country. On Memorial Day, the annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Bonners Ferry. Anyone wishing to be in the parade should be at the Fairgrounds by 9:30 a.m. Immediately following the parade, there will be a Memorial Service at Grandview Cemetery. This service is held every year, and honors our veterans with music, a couple of short speeches usually given by the Bonners Ferry Distinguished Young Woman and a local Boy Scout, and an invited guest speaker. The program typically lasts about 20 minutes or so, and is generally a solemn and reverent event honoring those who have served our country in the military. All are invited to participate and attend all of these upcoming Memorial Day events. |
