Meet the final group of Distinguished Young
Women participants for this year |

With this year's Distinguished Young Women
program coming up in just a few weeks (April
30), we have been presenting information on
those participating in the program this year.
Here are the bios on the last group of four
young women.

Taja
Hoban
Taja Hoban is sponsored by Boundary County
Community Theatre. She is the daughter of
Katrina Hoban. She has two brothers, Ryan and
Chase. After high school, Taja plans to attend
Lewis and Clark State College, and pursue a
career as a Professional FX Makeup Artist. Taja
finds historical figure Marilyn Monroe
interesting, as well as modern personality Mykie
from the YouTube channel “Glam and Gore.”
Taja keeps busy by participating in Drama and
Choir. In her free time, Taja enjoys singing,
reading, babysitting, and playing video games.
For her talent, Taja will be performing a vocal
solo.
When asked what makes her most proud of her
generation, Taja states, “What makes me most
proud of my generation is that if we really want
something we try our best to get it.”
Cameron Haworth
Cameron Haworth is sponsored by the Knights of
Pythias. She is the daughter of Earl and Raina
Haworth.
She has one brother, Kevin, and three sisters,
Summer, Mandy, and Hannah. After graduation,
Cameron plans to attend North Idaho College and
become a Police Officer or a Wildland
Firefighter. Cameron is intrigued by modern
personalities Jim Parsons and Trisha Yearwood,
and finds historical figures Abraham Lincoln and
Albert Einstein interesting.
Extracurricular activities that Cameron enjoys
include Dance Team, National Honor Society, Film
Club, Safe Club, and Symphonic & Pep Band. For
her talent, Cameron will be performing a vocal
and flute solo to the song Down to the River to
Pray, attributed to George H. Allan.
When asked what makes her least proud of her
generation, Cameron states, “We depend on our
electronics too much.”
Brittany
Spangler
Brittany Spangler is sponsored by Beta Sigma
Phi. She is the daughter of Christopher and
Kelly Jo Spangler. She has one sister, Sierra.
Brittany would like to attend North Idaho
College to get a Master’s Degree in Fabrication
and Welding. Historical personalities that
interest Brittany are Rosa Parks and Martin
Luther King Jr., while modern personalities she
finds interesting are Amberly Snyder and Carly
Rose Sonenclar.
A few of the activities that keep Brittany busy
include 4-H, FFA, Track, Volleyball, Basketball,
and Drill Team. For her talent, Britany will be
performing self-composed slam poetry.
When asked what makes her least proud of her
generation, Brittany is concerned about
laziness. She states, “My generation lets
procrastination and laziness fill our lives
making it harder for us to succeed.”
Madalynn Kelley
Madalynn Kelley is sponsored by the Bonners
Ferry Rotary Club. Madalynn is the daughter of
Eric Kelley
and Sarah Moore. She has one brother, David.
After graduation, Madalynn plans to attend the
Art Institute of Seattle to pursue a career in
either animation, story boarding, novel writing,
or script writing. Extracurricular activities
she enjoys include Advanced Art, Film Club,
singing, dancing, acting, writing, painting, and
drawing.
A modern personality that interests Madalynn is
Chiara Bautista, while a historical figure that
interests her is Theodore Roosevelt. Madalynn
will be performing a showcase dance to the song
Closer by Kylie Minogue for the Talent portion
of the program.
When asked what makes Madalynn most proud of her
generation, she states, “I am most proud of the
technological advances my generation has
achieved.”
