Bonners Ferry Summer Youth Theatre to perform at
Boundary County Fair |
August 17, 2015 |
by McKenzie MacDonald
Since
early July, a small group of young performers
has been working very hard to get ready to
perform for the community. In past years, Summer
Theatre’s productions have been on the stage at
the Becker Auditorium, but this year that will
not be the case. This year, the group will be
performing for County Fair-goers at the
Fairgrounds’ gazebo. “It has been difficult to
adjust,” said Annie co-director and performer
McKaela Spradlin, “we are having to use grass,
and a different structure and set.” Despite this
non-traditional stage, however, the actors are
excited to share all of their hard work with an
audience.
Due to a smaller cast and the rehearsal
schedule, the group will not be performing an
entire show, but will instead be performing
selections from the famous Broadway musical
Annie. These selections, to name a few, will
include classic favorites like “Hard-Knock
Life,” “Never Fully Dressed without a Smile,”
and “Tomorrow.” “We tried to focus the
selections on the group,” said McKaela, “we
wanted to keep everyone on stage as much as
possible.”
These selections from Annie will be performed
twice on August 20, 2015 – once at 5:30 p.m. and
again at 6:00 p.m. “We are excited for everyone to
see it,” said McKaela.
