Boundary County Centennial coins have arrived! |

The Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce had an
idea for a special way to help commemorate the
100th birthday of Boundary County, Idaho this
past January.
They commissioned the striking of a special
coin, minted with Idaho silver from the Sunshine
Mine, to be offered for purchase to help
celebrate the centennial celebration of our
county.
Orders for the limited edition silver coins—only
a few hundred were made—were placed earlier this
year, right around the time the County Museum
staged their Boundary County 100 year
celebration in January. The coins sold quickly,
and since then, purchasers have had to exercise
their patience, waiting a few months for the
minting of the special coins to be completed.
Word has now been received that the Boundary
County Centennial commemorative coins have
arrived and are ready for pick up. Those who
purchased a coin can pick up their shiny new
silver souvenirs at Mountain West Bank.

The coins are one troy ounce of .999 fine
silver. One side of the coin has a familiar
look: a man working to drive logs down a river,
which is one of the four Boundary County scenes
pictured on the front of the county courthouse.
The other side of the coin bears the official
seal of Boundary County.
At the time of this writing, a few extra coins
remain for sale. Information on availability of
coins and their purchase can be obtained from
Tamra Hiatt at Riverside Auto in Bonners Ferry.
