High speed chase in Bonner and Boundary Counties
December 17, 2014
A high speed chase that started in Bonner County and crossed into south Boundary County occurred last Sunday night on December 14.

According to the Bonner County Sheriff's Office, Bonner County officers identified two men as having arrest warrants out. When officers attempted to accost the men, the men left in a pickup, heading north.

A police pursuit ensued, with speeds "way past the speed limit," according to the Bonner County Sheriff's Office. At one point the chase crossed into Boundary County.

Eventually the suspects abandoned their vehicle, and headed into the woods. Bonner County officials contacted Boundary County and requested a K9 tracker at around 11:00 p.m. Boundary County officers and a Border Patrol agent assisted in attempting to locate the men after the vehicle had been abandoned. After searching for about an hour, the search was terminated. The abandoned pickup truck was impounded by the officers.

The representative from the Bonner County Sheriff's Office indicated that officers there know who the men are, and are continuing to seek their arrest.
