The land is owned by the State of Idaho and managed under a constitutional mandate to maximize long term financial returns for public schools. The homes and other personal property on the land are privately owned by the individuals and families that lease the land from the State. Property being sold “AS-IS,” with no contingencies. If someone other than the individual who currently leases the land is the successful high bidder, that person must pay the lessee for the value of their cabin and other improvements. Previous announcements from IDL indicated a higher number of lots to be auctioned, but some participants chose not to proceed to auction. |
