Kootenai River Days on the way |
July 16, 2014 |
Kootenai River Days is coming back! Those who may remember the days when Kootenai River Days was one of the bigger celebrations in Boundary County's summer days will be glad to know that the Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce has helped organize a group to bring the big event back. For those who have never heard of Kootenai River Days, you've got to try it out! The three day event begins Friday, July 25 at noon. There will be street vendors, special events, and many merchants will be staying open late. Memorial Park will be busy with crafts, a dunk tank, special speakers, and more. How about a summertime outdoor movie? You've got it with KR Days! Watch for a special bike ride, a barbecue, wheel chair races on Main Street in downtown Bonners Ferry. Main Street will also be the venue for live music and for tribal dancers. And don't forget arm wrestling and lawnmower races. Through all of this, the museum will have a display on old, past Kootenai River Days of days gone by. The museum will also have repeated screenings of the new movie A Natural Balance: Boundary County, produced by local filmmakers Kyle Flory and Rob Tenas.
