A record number of 222 cars were on display for the Rod Benders sponsored car show, "Borders 3 Jamboree," held this past Saturday right in downtown Bonners Ferry.

Vintage cars dating back to the early part of the last century, and cars from just about every notable automotive decade since, were glimmering in the beautiful weather on the day of the show.

Cars lined both sides of Main Street downtown, but spilled over also into other downtown streets, and several display cars parked in the Larson's parking lot.  Crowds of people of all ages strolled through the streets to see the cars, to visit, and to check in with the many dowtown businesses that were open through the show.

Cars from all over the Inland Northwest were represented at the show.  It appears from available information that the car that made the longest trip to attend was a car from Alberta, Canada, that traveled over 540 miles to attend the Bonners Ferry show.

Awards were given in several categories to cars at the show.  Best of Show went to the 1937 Ford Coupe belonging to Keith and Lois Dettling of Cranbrook, British Columbia.

The People's Choice Award went to Bonners Ferry's own Allen and Dena Riffel, who brought down their 1940 Ford.  The Mayor's Choice went to the 1964 Buick Riviera of John and Glokin Costello of Spokane, Washington.
