Public hearing set on Green Mountain drilling
project |
January 29, 2018 |
The Idaho Panhandle National Forests will be
hosting an informational meeting about the Green
Mountain Exploratory Drilling Project Plan of
Operations.
The public meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, February 8, at the Sandpoint Ranger
District Office, 1602 Ontario Street, Sandpoint.
The meeting will allow the public to learn and
ask questions about the proposed project.
Pend Oreille Silica Inc. has requested to
conduct exploratory drilling on National Forest
System lands. The company has proposed one site
for exploration from which two exploratory holes
will be drilled to a maximum depth of 200 feet.
The project area is located within the Sand
Creek-Lake Pend Oreille watershed on the
Sandpoint Ranger District.
All lands disturbed during the activities in
this proposal would be reclaimed, and disturbed
areas would be reseeded.
