Introducing candidate Sue Larson |
April 17, 2014 |
By Sue Larson Candidate, Boundary County Treasurer I write to introduce myself to you, as I am running for the office of Boundary County Treasurer. My name is Sue Larson, and I already have all of the requisite knowledge for the office. I currently work with Jenny Fessler as her Chief Deputy Treasurer, and I hope to take over for her as she retires from her position. I have worked within the logging industry and farming equipment business for the better part of my career, managing accounts and working at Sims Implement for 20 years. There, I oversaw all of the accounting functions and bookkeeping as the office manager for both of their businesses. As such, I have experience in working with large budgets and managing customer accounts with efficiency and accuracy, while offering the highest level of customer service. I also worked for Louisiana Pacific and Riley Creek Lumber, overseeing accounts payable for all of the loggers and filing the reports that contributed to the professional management of their mills. I became Boundary County’s Chief Deputy Treasurer in 2008. With this position has come the experience, competency, and knowledge to run the office with the expertise that our citizens deserve and expect. I have been a lifelong Boundary County resident, graduating from the Boundary County School system, and continuing my postsecondary education with a degree in bookkeeping from Lewis-Clark State College. I have been an active citizen of Boundary County, and I place the highest value in my family and friends who make up this community, particularly my brothers, Ron and Kevin Larson. I have served as President and Treasurer in Beta Sigma Phi, as President, council member and Treasurer of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and as a board member of the TLC Daycare. I find myself humbled as I share all of my qualifications. As my mother always told me, “Talk is cheap. People should know who you are through your actions.” I have confidence that those of you who know me have already seen my actions, and those of you who don’t know me will learn who I am as I serve as Boundary County Treasurer. I would appreciate your vote on May 20! |
