A 62-year-old truck driver from Peck, Idaho,
lost his life Saturday when he lost control of
his tractor-trailer rig on Highway 95 in the
Cocolalla area and spilled ammonium nitrate,
forcing closure of the highway for several
hours. According to the Idaho State Police, John M. Moody was driving a 2010 Peterbuilt tractor pulling a tanker trailer north on Highway 95 at about 1:14 p.m. when he drifted onto the right shoulder, overturning the rig and spilling about 500 gallons of liquid fertilizer. Due to the spill, ISP closed the highway to all traffic for more than seven hours. |
