News Bonners Ferry is saddened to report the
passing of a Boundary County legend. Bob
Bosworth, a lifelong forester who reached the
pinnacle of his profession, died in Bonners
Ferry on the evening of January 17. A huge, Bunyanesque man who could wield an axe or throw it with equal ease, Bob could appear intimidating at first until he smiled. He was one of the nicest, most kind men you'd ever hope to meet. "Bob Bosworth was one of the most calm, competent, thoughtful and dignified men I have ever known," former Bonners Ferry Mayor Darrell Kerby posted this morning on Facebook. "A wonderful family man and neighbor, Bob reached the very pinnacle of his profession without fanfare or self aggrandizing. Bob was elected and served as the National President of the Association of Professional Foresters Society. Throughout my years in elected office most of the stances I took on natural resource positions and testimony were formed due to Bob's willingness to take his personal time and effort to educate me on the important natural resource issues that faced our nation and community. To say Bob was a giant of a man would be an understatement on so many fronts. Bob, your family, your community and your nation will miss you dearly. Rest in peace." Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, and director Mick Mellett said this morning that family, friends and colleagues spanning the globe are being notified, and that funeral arrangements are pending. Our condolence go out to his wife, Jill, and children Megan and Carson and their families. |
