Josh
Beazer, a fifth grader at Valley View
Elementary, won the school-level competition of
the National Geographic Bee on December 18 and a
chance at a $50,000 college scholarship. The school-level Bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 26th annual National Geographic Bee. Josh didn't have it easy, either, as he and Josephine Abraham, Jaron Figuero, Hunter Goff, Ethan Kelley, Jessie McKenchnie all earned finalist honors to battle it out for the top spot. This year’s Bee is sponsored by Google, to learn more, visit http://maps.google.com/help/maps/education. |
