New owners at newsbf |

By Mike Weland While I can't reveal details, News Bonners Ferry has a buyer, and I'm pleased to announce that they are local, committed to the community and eager to continue what I have tried so hard to do; provide the people of Boundary County a source of free, accurate and timely news. For the time being, readers will notice little change as I will continue to maintain the site as we work on transitioning ownership. If anything, I'm confident News Bonners Ferry will improve, both as a business and as a trusted news source. Those who contend that the success of this site is due solely to my writing and dedication, I am confident that the new owners will belie that myth. Our readers will still be the focus of the site; you are the true reason for our success. Current advertisers on the site will see no change. New advertisers will gain the good service I couldn't provide. No where else will you find a better vehicle to get your word out to customers and potential clients, 24/7 and around the world. While newsbf strives to report local news, it recognizes that people who love this community as we do span the globe. I came to Boundary County more than 20 years ago to be a reporter, trying to learn my chops so as to leave this small town to go where reporting pays. I discovered that no news is more important than local news, and that being privileged to provide it to those who are my close neighbors is an unparalleled trust and honor. Those who now own newsbf.com share that conviction, and I pray readers and advertisers alike will continue to support their efforts to serve you. I think newsbf, to date, can be rated okay or fair. Giving a stretch, I might accede to good. With the skills and talent the new owners bring, I'm convinced that this little website I started as a hobby three years ago will achieve greatness. |
