A
very busy and talented Bonners Ferry High School
senior, Sierra Spangler, is the student of the
month selected by the Delta Kappa Gamma Women
Educators.
Somewhat shy as a freshman and sophomore, Sierra
has become more social as she has engaged in
activities both in school and out.
Very active in the 4H 4program, she is
raising a steer and especially enjoys showing
her horse, participating in barrel racing, open
class and jumping.
Her registered quarter horse coincidentally
comes from a long line of the name “Sierra” and
thus is called Sierra Two by Miss Spangler.
Sierra describes school as a safe and
comfortable place for her as a self motivated
student.
She uses her musical talents by playing in the
band, jazz band, pep band and symphonic
orchestra.
Her artistic talent is reflected in her
trans realistic paintings, in which she enjoys
painting abstract horses.
Her favorite classes have been the math classes
and this year she takes calculus from Mr. Saboe,
who she describes as “awesome."
All of her achievements include
maintaining a four point grade average.
As her senior project she has job shadowed the
veterinarian technician at the vet clinic.
Her future goal is to become a
veterinarian by starting out at NIC and
transferring to
Washington
State University.
Sierra’s parents, Chris and Kelly Spangler, have
supported and influenced her in her many
endeavors.
