AARP invites half of Boundary County
|
November 6, 2013 |
Nearly half of the population of Boundary County
is 50 years and older. These are senior citizens
who want to be active and informed concerning
things in their community, state and nation.
In order to do this, many come together once a
month to learn, share ideas, enjoy fun
activities and have informational programs.
As a group, they take field trips to businesses
and agencies, help others, give support to Head
Start and keep informed of education and health
news.
A representative from the group is a liaison to
the Coalition for Families and Children.
All seniors are welcome to participate at the
gathering of the AARP chapter, which this year
celebrates its fortieth anniversary as a chapter
in Bonners Ferry, on the second Monday of each
month at 1 p.m. in the VFW hall at the Senior
Hospitality Center.
