Caribou Pass Road to close
|
October 18, 2013 |
The Bonners Ferry Ranger District announces the
temporary closure of Forest Service Road 1007,
Caribou Pass Road. The closure will be from
October 21 through October 25, and again October
28 through November 1, to allow visitor access
along the road during the weekend.
This closure will temporarily restrict motorized
access to the Roman Nose Trail head.
This closure is necessary to allow the
replacement of numerous wooden culverts that are
failing, to repair and fill failures in two
locations and to reconstruct a segment of road.
This closure will provide the opportunity to
upgrade critical stream crossings, reducing the
risk of road failure and improving the road
surface.
This project is a partnership with the Kootenai
Valley Resource Initiative and the Idaho
Panhandle National Forest for the Collaborative
Forest Landscape Restoration project.

Ranger District at (208) 267-5561 or visit the
