Local veteran needs help

Barbara Cooper, chair of the Bonner and Boundary
County Veterans Council, has put out a call for
help for a local Vietnam veteran and his wife,
both incapacitated with injuries.
"We have a veteran in desperate need right now,"
she wrote in a letter to Father Gregory Horton.
Benny Barnes, a disabled Air Force veteran, and
his wife, Linda, need a variety of different
kinds of help; people who can shop for them,
cook a meal now and then, or just stop by to
visit. Their home at 1409 Juniper Lane has no
power, and they also need a wheelchair ramp
built to give them greater mobility.
