Jeremy Ellis, the worship leader at Mountain
Springs Church, Bonners Ferry, released his
debut record early this spring. This month, a
national magazine, "Worship Leader," picked it
up and it will be reviewed in their July/August
edition. It's part of a continuing miracle. Born at just 26 weeks gestation, by God’s sweet grace South African native Jeremy survived. There is no doubt that God had a plan to use this future singer/songwriter’s life. Through the experience of growing up in five different countries, Jeremy realized that there is no better way to unite the hearts of people than through the language of music. Jeremy is passionate about publishing God’s message of salvation and hope to all who will hear it. Here's part of the review given his album, "Seen & Heard;" “'Glory Be' used to be an expression that was heard as you traveled throughout the southern United States. Now it is a tune I can’t get out of my head thanks to Jeremy Ellis’ Seen & Heard. It is important to note that Seen & Heard only contains six songs. However, in this case, less is more and really fits the bill. 'Redemption Day' is a case in point where a very good musical arrangement aligned with strong songwriting makes for a great song. Noteworthy is the brilliant cello playing by Cara Fox and the duet with Sarah Macintosh on 'Righteous King.' "There is a simplicity and gentleness to Seen & Heard that makes listening please and affecting. The blending of percussion and a touch of squeezebox on 'How Do I' and the upfront bass on 'Faithfulness' with just enough Nashville to slide between bluegrass and standard worship is refreshing and genuine. Jeremy Ellis has a familiarity to his voice that is not distinguishable or unique and maybe that is the point. Rather than overcooking the production with effects and the usual studio wizardry the salvation of the message is front and center." Songs can be purchased online through iTunes at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/seen-heard-ep/id638625738, or at CD Baby: http://www.cdbaby.com/m/cd/jeremyellis. It is also available at Mountain Springs Church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Now 28, Jeremy lives in Bonners Ferry with his wife Lauren, and his two sons, Jude and Harper.
