County P&Z looking for applicants |

Boundary County Commissioners are seeking
letters of interest from those in our community
interested in serving on the Boundary County
Planning and Zoning Commission. One person will be appointed to complete the recently vacated position which expires in January 2016, with appointment to begin immediately. Earlier this week, member Mike Weland submitted his resignation, citing health concerns after experiencing a second "mini-stroke" last week. "I resigned with regret," he said, "but I feel I'd be a liability to the county. I was having trouble with the stairs to the courtroom before, and the latest episode made my left side even weaker." Those interested must have been a full-time resident of Boundary County for a minimum of two years. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the third Thursday of each month and hears a variety of land use applications, weighing the pros and cons of proposals and rendering recommendations or decisions based on the provisions of the Boundary County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance. Those interested should mail letters to Planning, PO Box 419, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805, e-mail them to planning@boundarycountyid.org, or fax them to (208) 267-2105. In addition, those submitting letters of interest are asked to attend the next planning and zoning meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, for interviews by sitting planning and zoning commissioners. The P&Z Commission will forward the list of applicants to the Board of County Commissioners for their decision. For additional information, call zoning administrator Dan Studer, (208) 267-7212. |
