Spring
is here and the excitement of gardening is being
felt by the members of the GROW!
community garden volunteers.
For those who like to garden or who want
to try their hand at gardening in order to raise
wonderful organic vegetables, the community
garden offers that opportunity.
Small plots or larger plots
are available at the
Buchanan Street
garden and can be leased by contacting Jennifer
at (208) 267-3235.
The group also offers scholarships for
those who may need assistance.
GROW! wants
to share the enjoyment of gardening and
harvesting with members of the community.
Preparing the garden for
the season and doing the maintenance on
structures calls for two work days, April 27 and
May 4 starting at
9 a.m.
Volunteers can help out on either of
those days.
The group maintains a
Northside Garden
for growing food that is donated to the
Community Action Food Bank and other needy
groups. In the fall a pumpkin patch is open for
families to search out and select choice
pumpkins.
Operating and managing the
two gardens is possible through the support of
local community businesses and the work of
volunteers. And volunteers are needed!
