On Monday, March 4, guest readers came to Valley
View and read in various classrooms. Mayor Dave
Anderson, Ron Smith, Rona Hall, Gini Woodward,
and Beverly Krichbaum all donated their time to
share their love of reading with Valley View’s
Students. This was all part of the National Education Association’s Program “Read Across America” campaign. Now in its 16th year, this program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources. Other activities of the week included, a Read-in Pajama Day, a Book Exchange in which every student had the opportunity to take at least one book home, a “Drop Everything and Read” time and a “Green Eggs and Ham” lunch. “I Love to Read” was the theme of the week as we celebrated Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. If you are interested in partnering with Valley View in their reading program, please give them a call at 208-267-5519. |
