March 6, 2013 |
Bonner Community Hospice, which serves both
Bonner and Boundary Counties, is offering two
classes beginning in April, but the deadline for
registering for either is fast approaching.
A Grief Acceptance Class to help those who've
suffered the loss of a loved one will be held
from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Monday from April 1
through May 20, featuring topics including
expressing your feelings, understanding grief,
coping with the stresses of loss, role changes
and remembering.
The class is free, including refreshments, and
the deadline to apply is Thursday, March 14.
Classes will be held at Bonner Community
Hospice, located in the Brown House, 520 North
Third Street, Sandpoint. To register, call
Tricia Gardner, (208) 265-1185.
Training for those who'd like to serve as
hospice volunteers, to help those facing their
final days have the dignity and grace of passing
in the comfort of their own homes, will be held
from 5:30 to 8:30 each Tuesday from April 2
through May 21, also at the Brown House.
Volunteers will receive training in awareness of
end of life issues, in communicating
compassionately and effectively, of providing
comfort to neighbors living out their final days
and the family members who love them.
Again, the deadline for registering is March 14
and the number to call is (208) 265-1185. |
