March 2, 2013 |
Inland Northwest Community Foundation (INWCF) is
accepting applications for the Equinox
Foundation Grant Program from nonprofit
organizations providing services in Bonner and
Boundary counties. The Equinox Foundation’s mission is to protect the natural assets of this region and to support ecologically sustainable solutions for growth and development. It is equally important to the Equinox Foundation to nurture the long-term health of the region by supporting positive opportunities for youth. Grant amounts typically are between $2,000 and $30,000 and are provided for a one-year grant period. Grants may be used for start-up funding; program expansion support; capital and/or equipment; providing free or lower-cost access to programs for eligible populations that may otherwise not be able to participate; and general operating support. Last year, the Equinox Foundation awarded 21 grants totaling more than $240,000. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 23. For more information about the Equinox Foundation Grant Program, go to INWCF’s Web site at www.inwcf.org in the Receive section. Founded in 1974, INWCF serves 10 Eastern Washington counties and 10 North Idaho counties to foster vibrant and sustainable communities in the Inland Northwest. The community foundation currently manages 360 funds valued at more than $70 million and has awarded $42 million in grants and scholarships since its inception, positively impacting thousands of lives in this region. In 2010, INWCF began a partnership with the Equinox Foundation to administer grant awards that meet the Equinox Foundation’s mission to fund programs that sustain a healthy environment and build opportunities for youth in Bonner and Boundary counties. |
