The Pearl Theater is seeking community actors
and singers for an exciting musical theater
production to be staged the first two weekends
in March.
The original musical theater production,
directed by Vicki Blake, will feature songs from
Broadway shows and films around the theme of
celebrating being alive on planet Earth. The
songs by the chorus will be interlaced with
scenes, vignettes and poetry presented by an
acting company. Artwork and photography will
enhance the production with images projected on
the Pearl Theater’s fabulous big screen.
Adult singers, high school and up, are invited
to join in the chorus, which will rehearse at
the Pearl Theater, 7160 Ash Street, Bonners
Ferry, on Mondays starting January 14 at 6:30
p.m. for women and at 7:30 p.m. for men.
Auditions are not required for the Bonners Ferry
Community Choir, which will be the chorus for
the show. Interested singers should just come to
rehearsal on Monday, January 14. Songs will
include a wide variety of styles from shows as
diverse as "Oklahoma" and "Spring Awakening" to
"Jungle Book," "Pippin" and "Carousel."
For the adult vocal soloists and actors, who do
not need to sing, auditions will be held at 7:30
p.m. Thursday, January 17, also at the Pearl
Theater.
Singers should bring a prepared piece to be sung
a cappella, with recorded accompaniment on an
ipod or CD, or with your own accompanist. Actors
will be given material to read.
Prepared material for actors (up to 2-3 minutes
total) is welcome but not required for the
audition. Rehearsals for the actors chosen will
be held on Thursday evenings. Vocal soloists
chosen will schedule rehearsal times with
director Victoria Blake Thompson and accompanist
Barb Nelson. Chorus members are welcome to
audition for acting or vocal solo roles as well.
If interested actors or singers cannot make the
audition time or for more information please
call the Children’s Choir director at (208)
304-0866.
A bass guitarist, Powerpoint presenter and
scenery artists are also sought and should call
